New 2007 Rules:

 

The following is an unofficial summary of rule changes that were made at the 2007 National Meeting.  Final official rules will come out in the 2007 Short Sheet and Rulebook: 

• Steel braided BRAKE lines mandatory 4-1-2007

• Heal stop or full faced brake pedal required 4-1-2007  This is to prevent drivers foot from sliding under or through the pedal. Rule is to help prevent Leg and ankle injuries.

• Aluminum fuel tanks now required with a min. thickness of .050 in.

• All rear axles must be made of steel or aluminum Effective 1-1-2008   Carbon fiber is not allowed now, titanium will not be allowed after 1-1-2008

• Class weight changes.   Lt 160, Lt Mod, Lt B, and Lt A are now 270 lbs.  Heavy class driver min weight is now 100 lbs. Sr Stock  is now 270 lbs.

• Tire treatment OF ANY KIND is no longer permitted.

• New GX160 and 120 engine are not to be used until after 12/31/2007

• Drivers jackets and suits will require a rating of SFI 3.2/3.2A1 or higher effective 1-1-2008
