NOVICE PROGRAM

New WQMA Novice Families,

The WQMA Novice Training Program is a fun, informative learning process. Each potential driver must complete one of the WQMA Novice Training sessions offered during the season to be eligible to participate in quarter midget racing. Please be advised that WQMA reserves the right to modify these dates if necessary.

We are ready for another session of drivers training. Orientation will be February 13th. We will start at 9:00 a.m. at the Monroe YMCA. It is located at 14033 Fryelands Blvd., Monroe 98272.

Orientation will last a few hours. If you have not joined, our secretary will be there to help you. Remember you will need a copy of your drivers birth certificate, 1x1 inch picture of each member over 18 years of age, a and a check for membership dues.

For those of you that have kids that have never been in a quarter midget, we will be meeting at the track after drivers training is finished to get those kids a trip around the track. You will need the car and all the drivers safety equipment. We will do a safety review of the cars to ensure they are in good mechanical operating condition.

PLEASE make sure that the throttle is set so when your driver presses on the gas pedal, the throttle moves less than 1/8 of an inch. This is not only for the safety of the kids but also the trainers.

Here is the overview of some of the activity that will take place during the drivers training program. A complete list will be available with the drivers training manual provided to you at the orientation:

Please contact Eric Jacobson, Novice Director, at trainer@wqma.com with any questions.
